This is a comment page!! I need answers to this question. It seems to me, that if you join a social network or you opt-in to ANY website, you are welcoming promotions-from all of the affiliates to said site+ all the sister sites & their affiliates. I say before you comment read the fine print. It’s only spam if it isn’t something you wanted or invited, right?

If it says you are signing up for 3 generations of marketing mail then no its not spam.
However, if you are trying to build an on-line business this is no longer a recommended approach. The internet has moved on and people, in general, no longer want this kind of email (which can get very out of hand).
Giving value and building relationships will create a business that will last many years and make more money, so spam or not – don’t do it.
