BLOGGING AS A PROMOTIONAL TOOL Or NOT?!
Hi Everybody,
There has been a thread started at myBetterNetworker ( B/N) social networking site about Blogging and it’s relation to the Marketing Industry. The discussion is based on folks who blog all day and maybe actually get their business thriving because of it or does it hinder your business because maybe you are typing to avoid getting on the telephone, or doing your other business duties.
My present feeling about blogging, unless that is your sole source of income, there is something called “Time Allocation”. I use my blog to vent mostly regarding things that get under my skin. I try very hard not to use specifics about taboo subjects like politics or religion using my business as a platform and in fact would most likely use a different name to do that.
So far I have not used my blog to promote my business, but when I do, I am going to try out my new business platform’s way of blogging: VIDEO BLOGGING!! I do have this blog and maybe a couple of more. I have a couple of Squidoo Lenses, But I usually DON’T work on them during normal buisness hours. This is my recreation, what I do to let off steam or stream line an idea I am working on & not as a source of income.
Though I do know people who do write for a living, I would imagine that they have “Content” that is useful. I seem to mostly ask questions in my blog. I am still learning about this and I am not exactly sure what makes a Great Blog? I always thought that a blog was an online journal which when it comes to journals, I never thought of putting my “Private” thoughts out on the internet.
Because I am looking for like minded people in my field I am more open to comment and suggestions.
My interest is in PEOPLE!, mostly from afar. Learning what makes some folks tick? What are their passions? Are they driven? If so, by what?
Some folks I have talked to or read about or learned from have had that something that drives them.
So, What is your passion regarding blogging? Insights are welcome.
